Lowari, Shandur, Deo-Sai, Fairy Meadows and Butogah are the places, which remain snow bound throughout the winter season, allowing approach only after the month of June. Shandur, Phander, Kachura, Satpara, Rama, Lulusar and Saif-ul-Muluk are the alpine lakes, which offer unsurpassed scenery and heart capturing beauty. Swat, Kalash, Chitral, Ghizer, Hunza, Shigar, Astore and Kaghan are the unprecedented valleys we cross during this tour. A complete yatra of northern mountain region along with a soft trek to Fairy Meadow has been included in the program. There is nothing missed as the tour includes all the aspects of an unforgettable journey, and the splendour of the northern areas of Pakistan.

ITINERARY

    Day 01 Arrival in Pakistan at Islamabad

    Welcome in Pakistan at Islamabad and transfer to hotel for rest. In the morning, we will visit ministry of tourism for a briefing session and for permit formalities.

    In the afternoon we will make a city sightseeing tour to Rawalpindi and Islamabad, which offers a great contrast of culture, archaeology and planning. Rawalpindi is an old city with narrow lanes and bustling bazaars while Islamabad is a modern and the only planned city of Pakistan serving as the capital of the state. Raja Bazaar, Murree Road, Lok Virsa Museum and Shah Faisal Mosque are the places of tourist interest included in the tour.

    Day 02 Islamabad - Taxila - Peshawar

    Following the historic Grand Trunk Road, we make a detour to Taxila and visit Jaulian Monastery and Archaeological Museum later on drive to Peshawar crossing River Indus at Attock Bridge on G.T. Road.

    Day 03 Peshawar - Excursion Khyber Pass

    Peshawar has witnessed the rule and climax of several civilizations as Khyber Pas was the easiest approach route from north towards the sub continent, making it the lone choice for the armies of Alexander, Ghaznavids, Ghauris, and Mughals. A trip to Afghanistan Border is beyond imagination where you still breathe in a world of tribes with their own law and order.

    In the town, Peshawar Museum, Masjid Mahabat Khan, Qissa Khawani bazaar and a drive by Bala Hisar Fort is our main activity.

    Day 04 Peshawar - Takht-e-Bahi - Saidu Sharif

    We depart from Peshawar to the Buddhist site of Takht-e-Bahi and later on cross Malakand Pass to enter in to Swat Valley, making a stop at Churchill's Picket and Shingerdara Stupa en route. On arrival transfer to hotel and in the evening we will visit the colorful bazaar of Mingora.

    Day 05 Saidu Sharif - Excursion Kalam

    In the morning we will visit Swat Museum and Butakra site, we will drive to Kalam, the main attraction in upper Swat Valley. En route, we will cross the villages of Madyan & Bahrain. Kalam perched along Swat River offers superb panorama and cool weather. In the evening, we will return to the hotel for overnight.

    Day 06 Saidu Sharif - Chitral

    We will make an early departure for Dir at the foot of Lowari Pass, only crossable by a four wheel drive vehicle. Winding over the Lowari Mountain is an interesting and rewarding experience. On the other side of the mountain, we again find asphalt road and arrive in Chitral in the evening.

    Day 07 Chitral - Bamburet ( Kalash Valley )

    Chitral Town is dominated by the view of distant Tirich Mir, the highest peak of Hindu Kush range of mountains. River Chitral is flowing through the town and offers superb views for photography. At Chitral, we make a brief sightseeing tour an after getting permit to visit Kalash Valleys, we drive to Bamburet, the main village of Kalash.

    Day 08 Bamburet - Day Free

    Kalash are an exotic feature of the region, these tribes are contrast to rest of the country.

    Their culture, religion, customs and habitat is unique and interesting. Optional trip to Rambur, another typical Kalash village can be organized.

    Day 09 Bamburet - Sarghoz

    We depart from Bamburet early for Sarghoz in upper Chitral Valley, where we camp for overnight.

    Day 10 Sarghoz - Shandur Pass - Phander Lake

    Today, we will cross the Shandur Pass at 3734m above sea level, situated at the border of Gilgit and Chitral region is known for its annual tournament of Polo. After making a photo stop at the pass, we keep on travelling and arrive at Phander Lake. Phander offers superb landscape and panorama around and is known for delicious trout fish in the lake.

    Day 11 Phander - Gilgit

    We start driving through picturesque Ghizer Valley along the river of same name; we arrive in Gilgit late in the evening and transfer to hotel for overnight.

    Day 12 Gilgit - Karimabad ( Hunza Valley )

    Gilgit has been the most important garrison town since ages. Now it is the largest and most important commercial center of the region, settled on the banks of Gilgit River.

    After making a brief tour of the town, we depart for Hunza driving on KKH and make a spectacular stop at Rakaposhi viewpoint. Crossing several villages of Nagar and Hunza states, we arrive at Karimabad, the capital town of Hunza Valley.

    Day 13 Karimabad - Excursion Khunjerab Pass

    Today we will make an excursion to the Sino-Pak border at Khunjerab, crossing the villages of Gulmit, Passu and Sost en route. Khunjerab is the highest point on KKH at 4734 meters and considered as the highest trade route in the world. In the evening we will return to Karimabad.

    Day 14 Karimabad - Skardu

    We will start driving on KKH and leave the highway at Alam Bridge for Skardu. Our onwards journey is through the narrow and barren gorge of Indus and the scenery changes at Kachura, a picturesque lake of Baltistan, where we make a brief stop and later drive on to Skardu town to stay for overnight.

    Day 15 Skardu - Excursion Shigar Valley

    We cross the River Indus and driving through a sandy land, arrive in green and fertile Shigar Valley. At Shigar, we will visit the old mosque and fruit farms and in the evening return to Skardu.

    Day 16 Skardu - Deo Sai - Rama

    We drive by jeeps to Deo-Sai plains crossing Satpara Lake en route. Deo-Sai is a treeless wilderness of rolling grassland at an average height of 4000m above sea level. We cross the rivers Bara Pani and Kala Pani and then driving past Deo-Sai Lake, we start descending in Astore region and continue our drive through Chilim Chauki and Astore to Rama.

    Day 17 Rama - Excursion Rama Lake

    Enjoy a free day at Rama to walk up to Rama Lake with sparkling views of shadowing mountains in the lake.

    Day 18 Rama - Fairy Meadows

    We start early for a great but soft adventure at the base camp of Nanga Parbat - 8125m, the lone giant of Himalayas and the only second highest in Pakistan after K-2. We drive to Raikot Bridge on KKH and onwards to Jail ( Tato ), by jeeps at foot of Fairy meadows. From the end of jeep track, it is a hike of about three hours to the legendary place Fairy meadows, which is truly named with unsurpassed views of Nanga Parbat. At fairy Meadows tents or log cabins are available for accommodation.

    Day 19 Fairy Meadows - Excursion Base Camp

    We start trekking with a soft walk of two to three hours, through the dense pine forest and later through birch trees and along shallow streams which takes us to Beyal, a summer settlement of shepherds with stunning views of Nanga Parbat - 8125m.

    From Beyal, we hike to base camp crossing tails of glaciers with well identified track. At base camp, a monument had been erected in the memory of climbers died on the mountain. After a packed cold picnic lunch at base camp, we will return to our campsite.

    Day 20 Fairy Meadows - Chilas

    At Fairy Meadows, we will enjoy a lazy morning for photography and later on start descending through the village of Fantoori to Jail and drive to Raikot Bridge and onwards driving on KKH, we will arrive in Chilas in the late evening.

    Day 21 Chilas - Naran

    Here starts another adventure as we start driving to a newly constructed jeep track and crossing Butogah pass at 4000m, we descend in to Kaghan Valley. Kaghan, an alpine valley is completely different from the landscape of northern areas and offers green hills and forested mountains. We pass through the summer settlement of Gitidas, Lulusar Lake and villages of Burwai, Jalkhad and Batakundi to arrive in Naran, the main attraction of the valley.

    Day 22 Naran - Excursion Lake Saif-ul-Muluk

    Today, we will make a visit to the legendary lake, Saif-ul-Muluk at 3200m. where Malika Parbat ( 5271m ), the highest peak of the valley, towers over the lake and offers great venues for candid shots and superb photography. Lake can be approached by jeeps, on foot or riding a hired pony. After a packed picnic lunch at lake, we will return to Naran to enjoy a cool evening in the village.

    Day 23 Naran - Ayyubia

    We make an early departure for Balakot, the last town of Kaghan Valley while descending. Balakot is settled on the banks of River Kunhar, the lifeline of the Kaghan Valley. We keep on driving to Mansehra and make a diversion from Abbottabad to Ayyubia, a charming hill resort in Galliat Region.

    Day 24 Ayyubia - Islamabad

    Ayyubia is famous hill resort with a facility of chair lifts to the top of the hills. The viewpoint offers grand panorama and one can see the distant hills of Kashmir as well. From Ayyubia, we will drive to Murree, another famous hill resort, which has been developed in to modern bazaar and famous among holiday makers. Our drive will finish at Islamabad, where evening is free for packing and shopping of souvenirs etc.

    Day 25 Departure

    Our staff will provide transfer and assistance at departure and say bon voyage for your onwards journey.
